What age can my child start swimming lessons?

We accept children from 6 months old for parent-accompanied water introduction sessions. Independent learn-to-swim classes typically begin around age 4, depending on the child's comfort level and readiness in the water.

I've never swum before as an adult — is this normal?

Yes, many adults join our beginner classes with no prior swimming experience. Our instructors work at a pace that addresses water anxiety first, then gradually introduces floating, breathing, and basic movement skills.

How are students grouped for lessons?

Students are placed into groups based on age and current skill level rather than by class name alone. This ensures each swimmer receives instruction matched to their actual water confidence and ability.

Do you offer make-up sessions if we miss a class?

We offer limited make-up options depending on scheduling availability and advance notice. Please speak with our front desk team about our current attendance and rescheduling policy for your specific program.

What should we bring to the first lesson?

Bring a swimsuit, towel, and swim cap if required for the pool. Goggles are optional for beginners but recommended for stroke development and competitive preparation classes.

How long does it take to become water confident?

Progress varies by individual, age, and lesson frequency. Many students show noticeable improvement in comfort and basic skills within several weeks of consistent attendance, though timelines differ for each swimmer.

How Our Lessons Work

A clear path from your first visit to consistent progress in the water

01

Initial Assessment

New students complete a brief in-water assessment so instructors can determine current comfort level, basic skills, and the most suitable starting class or program.

02

Class Placement

Based on the assessment, we place each swimmer into an appropriately leveled group or recommend private lessons if a more individualized pace is needed.

03

Structured Lessons

Swimmers attend regularly scheduled sessions with a consistent instructor, following a progression plan that builds skills step by step at a manageable pace.

04

Progress Review

Instructors periodically review each swimmer's development and discuss next steps, whether that means advancing to a new level or continuing to reinforce current skills.
